See the Difference Dysport Can Make For You Today! Dr. Lee Proudly Serves the Little Rock Area!
For as long as many of us can remember, BOTOX® has been a household name in dermal fillers. When a celebrity seems to have lost five years of their life in the past two weeks, or a co-worker’s face brightened up over a weekend, our immediate thought is “They must have had BOTOX®.”
While it’s true that BOTOX® has ruled the roost for a while, a new competitor has recently hit the market. Dysport uses the same basic formula as BOTOX®, but features a few key differences that make it stand apart.
Dr. Lee is proud to offer Dysport® as an option for patients who want an alternative for a tighter, brighter face.
What is Dysport?
Dysport® is a medication that is used to relax the muscles, often in the forehead, to clear up fine lines and even out wrinkles. It is made up of botulinum type A, a chemical formula that paralyzes muscles and makes the surrounding skin more malleable. If the muscles are relaxed and the skin is loose, wrinkles can’t form.
Dysport® may be newer on the American market, but it’s been used in Europe for much longer. Since coming over to America, it has been widely accepted as a viable alternative to BOTOX® and is FDA approved.
Is it the same as BOTOX®?
While the two products are very similar and do similar things, they aren’t the same. Their relationship with each other is the same as two different brands of tires or pens. Their function is the same, but there are subtle differences between the two that make them stand apart.
What Makes Dysport® Different?
Dysport® features many differences that set it apart from its competition. Between the way the formula is made up, to the length of time it takes to set, Dysport® has some unique qualities.
- Time to Set: Dysport® has a quicker set time than its competition. Results can be seen in 2 – 5 days versus 4 – 7 days.
- Longevity: In some cases, Dysport® can last longer than its competition because its formula contains less protein. By containing less protein, there are fewer antibodies being formed against it, which could make it last longer.
The differences between the two formulas are present but are usually subtle enough for the general public not to notice. During your consultation, Dr. Lee will explain the differences between the two products to you and will help you decide which product is best for your beauty goals.
