BOTOX Little Rock

Smooth Out Wrinkles with BOTOX! Dr. Lee is Currently Scheduling Patients in the Little Rock Area!

Not all facial wrinkles are created equal. Some wrinkles occur as we age because our skin loses the natural hydrating acids that cause soft and plump skin. Other wrinkles are caused because they are located in the areas of our face where the skin moves the most. These areas are around the mouth, the forehead, the eyes and the cheeks.
These wrinkles are called dynamic wrinkles and are created when we talk, smile and laugh. To smooth the skin and even out these kinds of wrinkles, Dr. Lee recommends using one of the most recognizable names in wrinkle removal: BOTOX.
BOTOX is famous for a reason. It’s a go-to treatment for everyone from celebrities to musicians and everyday people like you. BOTOX is popular because the treatments are easy, the procedure is quick, and the product works. BOTOX injections are available for our patients in Little Rock, AR, and the surrounding areas.

What Is BOTOX?

BOTOX is an injectable treatment made from a purified form of botulinum toxin type A. It was originally developed for medical use in the late 20th century and was later approved for cosmetic purposes to soften the appearance of facial lines. Since then, it has become one of the most widely used cosmetic injectables worldwide. Today, BOTOX is used by both men and women who want a smoother, more refreshed appearance without surgery.

How Does BOTOX® Work?

BOTOX® works by relaxing the muscles around these dynamic areas of the face so that they don’t crease as easily and therefore don’t create wrinkles. You can use BOTOX® anywhere on the face, but the most common places for it to be used are:

  • Forehead: Horizontal forehead lines develop from repeatedly raising the eyebrows, which causes the frontalis muscle to contract. BOTOX relaxes this muscle just enough to smooth the skin while still allowing for normal facial expression and movement.
  • Frown Lines: Also called “11 lines” or glabellar lines, these vertical creases form between the brows when the corrugator and procerus muscles pull the eyebrows inward. Injecting BOTOX into these muscles softens the furrows and makes the area more relaxed.
  • Bunny Lines: Bunny lines are small diagonal wrinkles on the upper sides of the nose that appear when you scrunch your face or smile. BOTOX injections can reduce these lines without affecting natural facial movement.
  • Crow’s Feet: Crow’s feet are the fine lines that spread outward from the corners of the eyes, most noticeable when smiling or squinting. Targeted BOTOX injections on the muscles around the eyes smooth these lines while maintaining some movement for a natural smile.
  • Platysma Bands: Platysma bands are vertical cords that can appear on the neck as the platysma muscle becomes more active with age. Carefully placed BOTOX injections relax these bands and create a smoother neckline and a more refined jawline.

The dynamic wrinkles that occur in these areas are made worse with age because our body loses the collagen and the hyaluronic acid that give our skin its bounce.
Once treatment has begun, you’ll notice that you still look the same, but you look more relaxed. BOTOX® doesn’t replace or supplement the lost facial cells like some dermal implants, but rather relaxes the muscles themselves in order to bring out a more youthful you.

What Are the Benefits of BOTOX?

Quick Treatment and No Downtime

A BOTOX session typically takes only a few minutes and is easy to fit into a busy schedule. You can return to regular activities right after your appointment. BOTOX treatments can be a good option for those who want visible improvements but don’t want to take a lot of time away from work or daily responsibilities.

Natural-Looking Results

When injected into the right areas with the right dosage, BOTOX relaxes targeted muscles just enough to soften wrinkles while keeping facial expressions intact. The goal is not to freeze movement but to restore a smoother, more refreshed appearance that still looks like you.

Customizable for Each Patient

Each face has its own muscle strength and movement patterns, so dosage and placement are adjusted to match your facial structure. BOTOX allows for a personalized approach. If you want more noticeable results and less movement, we can inject more product. If you want very subtle and natural-looking changes, we can plan for a lighter treatment.

Temporary Yet Long-Lasting

A single BOTOX treatment can maintain its effect for several months, and consistent treatments can help muscles stay more relaxed between sessions. The temporary nature of the treatment allows for adjustments at your future visits if you decide you want a stronger or lighter treatment.

What is the Procedure Like?

Because BOTOX® is a medication, it’s injected directly into the face through a tiny needle. We use numbing cream to keep you comfortable during your injections. Each treatment takes only about 15 minutes per injection, so it’s very common to have treatments done in between work and home, or while you’re already out.
Results are generally seen in a few days but aren’t fully realized until about two weeks after treatment. It’s advised not to touch or manipulate the injection area in the immediate days following the procedure. For maximum results, you should continue to receive regular injections every three to four months.

How to Prepare for Your First BOTOX Treatment

If you have never had a neuromodulator treatment before, preparing properly can help you feel more comfortable and get the best possible outcome. A few days before your appointment, it is a good idea to stop using blood-thinning medications or supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil or vitamin E. These products can increase the risk of bruising, but it is important to discuss any medication changes with your doctor. Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your visit for the same reason.
Come to your appointment with clean skin free of makeup, lotion, or sunscreen so the injection area stays sterile. We will have you begin to take Arnica tablets two days before your treatment to reduce bruising. Make sure to talk openly with us about your goals, any medications you are taking and your medical history so we can create a customized plan for your neuromodulator treatment.

What to Expect After Your BOTOX Treatment

After your BOTOX treatment, you can return to most of your regular activities right away, though you may notice slight redness or swelling at the injection sites for a short time. We recommend applying ice to the treated area for the first one to two days to help minimize any swelling or tenderness. To reduce the chance of bruising, continue taking Arnicare tablets for two days after your appointment or until any discoloration fades.
Make sure to avoid applying makeup, lotion or skincare products to the treated area for the rest of the day and evening to keep your skin clean and protected. You should also avoid exercising too heavily and stay in an upright position for at least four hours after your treatment.

Tips for Maintaining Your BOTOX Results

Caring for your skin and following a few simple habits can help your BOTOX results last longer and look their best between appointments. Regular maintenance and a healthy lifestyle both make a noticeable difference in how long your smooth, refreshed look lasts. To make the most of your BOTOX injections, be sure to:

  • Schedule maintenance treatments every three to four months to keep muscles relaxed and prevent lines from returning.
  • Protect your skin from the sun with daily sunscreen, as UV damage can break down collagen and affect your results.
  • Stay hydrated and follow a balanced skincare routine to keep your skin healthy and supple.
  • Avoid smoking, which can accelerate facial aging and shorten the longevity of your BOTOX.
  • Maintain open communication with your injector so adjustments can be made over time for consistent, natural-looking results.

Preventative BOTOX

Preventative botulinum toxin treatment can help slow the formation of wrinkles by addressing muscle activity before lines become more visible. When small amounts of the product are injected into targeted facial muscles, it reduces repetitive movements that cause creasing in the skin. This approach may be used in younger adults who notice early expression lines on the forehead, between the brows or around the eyes. Preventative BOTOX looks at the areas that are likely to develop wrinkles with time, and helps keep the skin smoother in these areas.

BOTOX for Men

We can use BOTOX for men to relax specific muscles that cause deep lines on the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes. The treatment is similar for men, but we take care to adjust the dosing and placement as needed to suit male facial structure and muscle strength. Because the process is quick and does not require downtime, it can be easily integrated into a busy routine.

Good Candidates for BOTOX

Good candidates for BOTOX are healthy adults who are not pregnant or breastfeeding and have no history of neuromuscular disorders. Anyone considering treatment should be free from active skin infections, rashes or inflammation in the intended injection areas. It’s important to disclose any medications, supplements or recent medical treatments during your consultation so we can make sure you are a good candidate. We also spend time talking with you to make sure you have realistic expectations and the ability to follow aftercare instructions.

What to Consider Before Getting BOTOX

A common concern is whether BOTOX will make the face look frozen, but when performed with precise dosing and proper placement, it allows for natural movement while softening unwanted lines. BOTOX is one of several neuromodulator options we offer, alongside products like Dysport® and Letybo®, and we choose the formula that best suits your facial anatomy and treatment goals.
The right product depends on factors such as muscle strength, treatment area, and how quickly you want results to appear. People in their late 20s to early 30s may start BOTOX to slow wrinkle formation, while older adults often use it to maintain a smoother appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions About BOTOX

What Is the Difference Between BOTOX and Dermal Fillers?

BOTOX and dermal fillers are both injectables, but they work in completely different ways. BOTOX is a neuromodulator that relaxes specific facial muscles to help smooth expression lines, while dermal fillers add volume beneath the skin to restore fullness or contour certain features. Fillers are often made of hyaluronic acid and are commonly used in the cheeks, lips, and jawline. Sometimes, both types of injectables are combined to treat different causes of aging, like dynamic lines, static lines, and loss of volume.

How Long Does BOTOX Last?

A BOTOX treatment typically lasts between three and four months. However, the exact duration is different for everyone and depends on your metabolism, muscle strength, and treatment area. Consistent maintenance can help extend the benefits, as the muscles gradually learn to stay relaxed with repeated treatments. Longevity also varies based on the amount of product used and your individual response. We can create a schedule that fits your lifestyle and keeps your results steady throughout the year.

How Long Does BOTOX Take to Work?

The effects of BOTOX are not immediate, as the neuromodulator takes time to block the nerve signals that cause muscle contraction. Most people begin to notice softening of lines within three to five days, with full results becoming visible around two weeks after treatment. Once the product takes full effect, the skin looks smoother and more relaxed.

What Happens If I Stop Getting BOTOX?

When someone decides to stop receiving BOTOX injections, the treated muscles gradually regain their full movement as the product wears off. Wrinkles that were temporarily softened will slowly reappear and return to the way they looked before treatment. The skin does not worsen or age faster because of stopping BOTOX. You simply return to your natural baseline, and you can restart treatment at any time if you choose.

How Much Does BOTOX Cost?

The cost of BOTOX varies based on the number of treatment areas and the total units needed to get your desired outcome. Some people require more product depending on muscle strength or facial structure. Pricing is discussed during your consultation, and we provide a clear estimate before any treatment begins.
