Since the substances inside Juvederm® bond with the body’s own chemicals, the initial results will last up to an entire year before follow-up injections will be needed.
A recent clinical trial of the treatment’s effectiveness was conducted in the United States. Researchers found that after 24 weeks of initial treatment, the 146 patients surveyed were 88%-90% satisfied with their results. Approximately 70% of first-time Juvederm® patients went on to have secondary injections done at the recommendation of their physician. Less than 30% of patients experienced temporary facial itching, which is easily treated with moisturizer.
